A New York Times article examining the issue cites a 1990 Gallup poll where 25% of respondents claimed to believe in ghosts or spirits. When Gallup asked again in 2005, 32% said they believed in ghosts. Most recently, a 2019 IPSOS poll boasted a whopping 46% of spiritually-inclined respondents.
