Joseph Giardina has been with people of all walks of life during some of their hardest moments. The president of North Castle Insurance Agency in Armonk-North Castle, New York, has helped families through sudden deaths of loved ones, horrific car accidents, and damage to cherished homes. It has led him to believe deeply in helping people during their biggest times of need with whatever he and his family have. It’s why when he stood at the back of St. Mary’s Church fifteen years ago and read a flyer requesting donations for the annual Westchester Christmas Dinner, he didn’t hesitate to help.
“They were getting ready to provide dinner to 350 guests from homeless shelters from around the county,” Joseph Giardina remembers. “Only they were having difficulty getting the 40 hams and 40 turkeys they were going to need. So, I volunteered to donate them. No matter how successful you may become, everyone – without exception – goes through times that are hard emotionally and financially. I wanted to step in and help these people have the dinner they deserved.”
His family was on board even though Joseph Giardina was a young father with a business he had just started. Donating the hams and turkeys each year has become a tradition that the entire Giardina family supports.
Joseph Giardina’s other volunteer work involves advocating for more effective cancer treatments. As a Board member for Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation, led by founder Denise Rich, he works to help children and adults who have lymphoma, leukemia, and related cancers. “It is immensely rewarding to know that I can help the foundation in its mission to ease the suffering of cancer patients by improving their treatment options,” he says.

This was true for one of my clients, who died suddenly when he was only 30 years old or so. His wife suddenly had no means to support herself, and she had young children to care for. Because he had purchased a life insurance policy with us, I was able to give her a $500,000 check at his funeral. That brought her peace of mind for their financial future even though the money could never bring her husband back.”

What may surprise you about him is that he was honored by the Recording Industry Association of America for the sales of more than 1,000,000 copies of the Hollywood Records compact disc “Jonas Brothers.” When asked about it, Joseph Giardina says, “I am very driven professionally. When given a goal, I set my mind to it and just don’t stop until I’ve reached it. I do the same for my own insurance clients.”
